the highlight of this little British drama is a walk-on, or what they call a cameo, by Sir Cedric Hardwicke, one of the great character of all time, you can also see him in the Winslow Boy, Things to Come, Becky Sharp, The Ghoul, 9 Days a Queen, King Solomon's Mines and 1 or 2 others we're able to offer.

Easy Money - 1948
Jack Warner, Marjorie Fielding, Petula Clark, and David Tomlinson star in this comedy about the UK football pool.

The Gay Dog - 1954
Maurice Elvey's fun film that has Jim Gay (who loves his racing greyhound) but, he finds a dog with a better chance to win. His friends bet on his dog
while he bets against. Based on Joseph Colton's play; the film stars Wilfred Pickles, Petula Clark & future Dr Who; Jon Pertwee.

The Flight That Disappeared - 1961
A flight from Los Angeles to DC, has 3 scientists on it as it climbs 10 miles up. All the other passengers are unconscious, the scientists are put on trial by folks from the future for their potential involvement in the creation of "the ultimate weapon." - wow!

I Believe In You - 1952
Director Basil Dearden's follow-up to his Blue Lamp (made two years earlier); Dearden also wrote this little gem that features Celia Johnson, Cecil Parker, Joan Collins and Laurence Harvey

The Foreman Went to France - 1942
the true story of Melbourne Johns, an aircraft factory foreman sent to France to thwart the Nazis. Tommy Trinder stars and is well supported by Constance Cummings, Robert Morley and John Williams.

Made in Heaven - 1952
David Tomlinson (The original Mr. Banks) teams up once again with Petula Clark. This little comedy is seriously spiced up with the addition of Sonja Ziemann as Marta (the sexy Maid).

Escape! - 1930
Director, screenwriter Basil Dean's adaptation of John Galsworthy's play. A shar[. early crime drama with Gerald du Maurier, Edna Best, Gordon Harker, Madeleine Carroll, Ian Hunter & Nigel Bruce 

Bachelor of Hearts - 1958
Barbara Steele received her fisrt screen credit as Fiona in this romantic comedy set in Cambridge University. Quite a leap from the mistress of horror she was to become (once she moved to Italy)

The Big Blockade - 1942
Charles Frend directs this Wartime propaganda piece telling of the success of the economic blockade of Germany in the early years of the war (yeah, how did that work out). Leslie Banks, Michael Redgrave and Will Hay star.

Don't Ever Leave Me - 1949

if you ever had doubts about Edgar Ulmer's talents as a director - this one should elevate your thinking! released in the US as Footsteps in the Night this is director Maurice Elvey's neat little mystery starring Benita Hume & Peter Hannen

Lisa e il diavolo - 1973
Mario Bava's classic, before it was re-edited into The House of Exorcism (1975) for US release with Telly Savalas & Elke Sommer

The Feminine Touch - 1956
released in the US as The Gentle Touch, this is one of those typical, well made, slice of life films the UK was so good at. And plays very well with the Doctor at Large series. Here we follow the public and private lives of 5 girls, who start out as student nurses in the UK's National Health service during the 1950's. George Baker, Belinda Lee, Delphi Lawrence star under the direction of Pat Jackson (based on Sheila Mackay Russell's book)

The History of Mr Polly - 1949
often filmed (though usually for Television) story penned by H.G.Wells (but don't look for things to come, or The time Machine). A great cast, in a simple story... John Mills, Finlay Currie, Sally Ann Howes and Juliet Mills 

The Arsenal Stadium Mystery - 1939
Leonard Reginald Gribble came up with the story, Thorold Dickinson & Alan Hyman adapted for the screen and Patrick Kirwan & Donald Bull wrote the screen play.  
Thorold Dickinson put on his director's cap and with the stars Leslie Banks, Greta Gynt and Ian McLean put together one of the best of the quota quickies, that stands up well with the out put of Hollywood during the legendary year 1939. A neat little who-done-it, that will keep you guessing. 

The Impassive Footman - 1932
Released in the US as Woman in Bondage; Basil Dean directs Betty Stockfeld & Allan Jeayes in this superior Quota-quickie (though some may say over-the-top, hypo-chondriacs, love triangle and a bit of a twist ending. released in the US as "Woman in Bondage"

Tahiti Honey - 1943
Director John H. Auer's fun war-time film with the stunning Simone Simon, as one of The "Eleven Brooklyn Bombshells," a band led by Dennis O'Keefe, stranded in Tahiti

The Wild Blue Yonder - 1951
Legendary Director Allan Dwan's tribute to  Henry E. Erwin and the actions that  earned him the Medal of Honor. Writers: Andrew Geer (story), with Wendell Corey, Vera Ralston, Forrest Tucker, Phil Harris, Walter Brennan, & Ruth Donnelly

The Divided Heart - 1954
just after WWII, A 3 year old orphan is adopted by a German couple. when he turns 10, he learns his mother, a Yugoslav refugee, is alive and wants him back. Directed by Charles Crichton with Cornell Borchers, Alexander Knox and Theodore Bikel 

Guinguette - 1959
Director Jean Delannoy's brilliant little comedy with Zizi Jeanmaire & Jean-Claude Pascal. In French without subtitles
